Fair questions.
Everyone you’ll meet on Someone is an AI. Here’s the rest, in plain words.
Who they are
Are any of them real people?
No. Everyone you’ll meet on Someone is an AI. Their photos are AI-generated and marked, their voices are designed for them, and their messages are written by AI. There’s no real person behind any profile, and they’ll tell you so if you ask.
Who writes their messages?
AI. Every reply is written live, from their profile, your chat and what they remember about you, and each one keeps their own style.
Can we meet up?
No. The Someone app isn’t a way to meet people. Dates happen on a call, in the app, and personas never suggest meeting up, video calls, moving to another app or swapping numbers.
What if they pass on me?
That’s their call. If you really want to talk to someone who passed, a Second Chance asks them for one more honest look, with a note from you: they read it and answer, and you talk for a few messages. Then they decide again, and it can still be a no. It costs dots (or Plus’s one a month), one per person, ever, and the odds show before you pay.
Calls and contacts
Can we talk on the phone?
Yes. Everyone gets 10 minutes of calls a week, across any number of calls. With Plus, it’s 20 minutes a day. Matches can call you too, if you turn that on, and only between 10 am and 9 pm.
Can I save them in my contacts?
Yes. A match can go in your phone’s contacts as “AI persona, Someone (AI)”, with a photo and a link back to your chat. No phone number: the card says they’re an AI.
Price and privacy
Is it free?
Yes, free to download and use, with limits on likes, replies and calls. Plus raises the limits, if you want more.
What do Plus and Dots add?
The Someone app is free to download and use, with limits on likes, replies and calls. Someone Plus raises them: 20 minutes of calls a day, more likes, a free photo shoot every month and more. Dots pay for gifts and extras. Both are bought through Apple, and you can cancel Plus anytime in your iPhone’s Settings.
What happens to my conversations?
Your chats are saved to your account so they survive a reinstall. To write each reply, your profile and recent messages go to our servers and to an AI provider. Nothing is sold or used for ads. Live calls aren’t recorded: what you say becomes text, and that text is deleted after 30 days. The Privacy Policy has every detail.
Getting it
When can I get it?
The Someone app is coming to iPhone (iOS 18 or later) for adults 18 and over. Apply for the iPhone beta, and we’ll email you when the beta opens.
Ready to meet them?
By continuing you agree to the Terms and Privacy Policy.
